I am Back

It’s been a while since my last blog, October pa yung huli. Wala akong maisulat dahil wala namang gaanong nangyari sa buhay ko this past few months. The only highlight eh nabigyan ako ng offer ng Mentum Japan, pinipirata nila ako from NEC. Medyo nahirapan ako magdecide. Will I stay here in NEC or move over to Mentum?

Here’s what I did, I asked my family, my friends and of course my better half Jay-R. My family chose NEC kasi kilala at stable na company daw. Ang mga kaibigan ko naman, most of them said that I should weigh kung sino yung may magandang benefits. A very good and well-known blogger Ella, gave me good advices na nakatulong sa pagdedesisyon ko.

So what I did is that I compared the two offers. I asked myself, “saan ba ako magiging masaya mag-work???” Feeling ko masstuck lng ako sa position ko ngaun and I cant just let it happen kasi nakakabobo. I need to move to a place where I think I will grow as a worker and a person.

And the winner is, Mentum! Bakit? Secret, bawal ipagkalat laman ng offer e. Let’s just say na with Mentum I am exposed to A LOT of possibilities and I will learn and grow while earning a lot. But it was not an easy decision and it took a lot of considerations. My last day here sa NEC would be on January 25th. Two days na lang, and then I will start working for Mentum sa January 28th (opo, wala po akong pahinga…huhuhu!) Last week I was given a farewell party by my officemates, masaya na malungkot. But I am glad na naintindihan nila ako at they are all wishing me the best.

And last but not the least, my hubby for always supporting me sa mga decisions ko. Goodbye NEC...hello Mentum!!!

Our First Picture Together

I was fumbling through my emails and have found this picture in my hotmail inbox. This picture was taken last July 2005. We are together for almost 3 years already. Everyday with sooooo much farce, drama, happy moments, adventures, fights and make-ups and a whole lot more! But it still feels like we’re a new couple. We look so much younger, fresher, and less bloated sa pic na ito. Bwahahaha!

LA-ahh-LA PORT!!! c",)

Last Saturday (October 20th), tapos na lahat ng household chores naming mag-asawa. Wala na kaming maisip na gawin. Wala kami sa mood manood ng online movies (online kasi wala kame TFC sa bahay) or mag Tong-Its. After a few minutes nang pagmumuni-muni, nagkatinginan kaming dalawa..

This is it!!!

And we both decided on LALA PORT YOKOHAMA.

At Last nandito na kami!!! Andaming shops at resto. Mukhang mapapasabak kami!

Haaay...tiring but we enjoyed it!!! Para na rin kaming nag-jogging nun which hindi namin nagawa that day dahil sa kakalamyerda.

Sad part though is that we spent too much that day......patay na namin ang bills na babayaran namin sa card netoh!!!

California Pizza Kitchen

The renowned American chain providing fantastic food and value.

Three of the happiest words in English are “California,” “Pizza” and “Kitchen,” so it’s no surprise that this casual restaurant is such a hit.

CPK’s two branches are both located in massive shopping centers: the extravagant new Lala Port Yokohama and Lazona in Kawasaki. The
latter is most-likely to be the best bet for Tokyo day trippers because the mall is just a couple minutes’ walk from Kawasaki station. The Lala Port branch, on the other hand, requires a transfer at Yokohama station, but its big pull is that it sits in the largest shopping center in Kanagawa.

The Yokohama branch doesn’t accept reservations on weekends. The inside is spacious, with a good amount of room between tables and comfortable booths. The restaurant packed with couples and families, who enjoyed their dinners to the accompaniment of light rock music in the background.

The food is excellent. Healthy seasonings and attractive presentation enlivened everything we tried, and there’s a lot more than just pizza on the menu. From the Pasta Menu, the Shanghai Garlic Noodles, Chinese noodles wok-stirred in a garlic-ginger sauce with snow peas, Shiitake mushrooms, mild onions, red and yellow peppers, baby broccoli and scallions. Its is also available with chicken and/or shrimp. The Roasted Garlic Shrimp, though a bit small-portioned for the price, had ingredients like Roasted garlic, grilled chicken, Mozzarella cheese, mild onions and Italian parsley with a white wine and garlic-shallot butter sauce.

And for dessert, Hot Fudge Chocolate Sundae, had ingredients like Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream, triple-thick hot fudge, fresh whipped cream and a cherry on top. YUMMY!!!

I've been to a CPK before in the Philippines, but I don't recall it being as nice as the one here in Japan. Here, there is a large and friendly wait staff, clean and professional decor, and overall a lovely location. But -- given the name of the restaurant, you'd expect a place a little more casual and inexpensive. Alas, a lunch for two (with 2 mango-flavored lemonade, 1 pasta and 1 pizza) came out to JPY5,300 ($45.30 or Php 2000+). But the food was good, so it was worth it.

As its name suggests, CPK prides itself on pizza, and there are a full two dozen varieties on the menu. For anyone who has overpaid to have a pizza delivered in Japan, the prices at this restaurant are quite reasonable: all the pizzas are under ¥2,000. Options range from classics like mushroom, pepperoni and sausage (¥1,680) and traditional cheese (¥1,480) to Jamaican jerk chicken (¥1,680) and vegetarian with Japanese eggplant (¥1,680). The “Premium Crispy Pizzas” menu, meanwhile, has six entries; we chose the Milan (¥1,980). We’re not sure what “Premium Crispy” refers to, but it certainly isn’t the crust, which was thick and doughy. Topped with two kinds of sausage, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions and fontina, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, this was one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had—abroad.
Though neither of Japan’s California Pizza Kitchen branches are located in the center of Tokyo, both are definitely worth the extra time and effort to go to.

3F Lalaport Yokohama, 4035-1 Ikonobe-cho, Tsuzukiku, Yokohama. Tel: 045-414-2415. Open daily 11am-11pm (LO 10pm). Nearest stn: Kamoi (JR Yokohama line). http://www.cpkjapan.com/

October 14, 2007, noon, Tokyo Japan

Our first time to play golf... after turning down several invites from my sister, we finally decided to try it...we thought we would never know, it might not be as boring as we pictured it out...we were curious and a bit excited at first...then after a few swings, we reached the point of boredom...either that or plainly we dont have the passion to play this kind of sports...at least we have experienced swinging the club to hit the ball...BUT NEVER AGAIN are we gonna lay hands on those clubs, such a waste of time for us...we enjoyed taking pictures though hihihi!!!

anggandaniwanda.blogspot.com -- Mga Kwentong Parlor in Wanda Ilusyunada

This is it!! Ang blogsite for all the bekbeks out there! Hay naku, I super luuurve talaga the ganda-gandahang author of this blogsite -- ATEH WANDA! (ateh talaga?!?) Ang fabulous nya tlaga! Ang taray ng pikturakka davah??

Na-discovery channel ko itong blogsite na itoh through my friend Ross Ann (mabuhay ka ateh!). One day kasi nagcha-chat kami and nasa stage ng may-I exchange kami ng lungkot moments...then bigla nya suggest to read Wanda’s blogs which is “sooooo panalo” daw talaga and stress-relieving. And truelili nga...I found myself getting hooked sa blogsite nya that I spent hours (I would say days nga coz inuulit ko ung super funny entries kapag bored to death ako, makatawa man lng khit saglit) reading all the entries. I was really amused after getting the meaning of most gay words used. This is so... pinoy vehykla! Bading na bading with its POOTAH PINK theme!!

Wanda Ilusyunada is a parlor-owner from the “shooo kapital ng Pilipinas ” Marikina. She hoards her life by writing remnants of her funny and weird experiences. Wanda's real identity was not uncovered anywhere in her blogsite.

The blogsite is so funny. Uber pigil na ako sa paghalakhak and halos kagatin ko na labi ko para lng wala lumabas na sound when I was reading her entries and my boss who's beside me was looking at me strangely, akala nya cguro na-lulukring na si atashi. The entries are just so human; I mean nangyayari sha tlaga sa totoong buhay. Wanda's friends are so wild! Na-miss ko tuloy yung mga gay friends ko sa Pinas, although d sila kasing wacky nina Roxy and Frida, yung mga moments nila with their “lulurki’s” are just sooo the same.

To make this kuwento short, masaya basahin ang mga kuwentong parlor ni Wanda Ilusyunada...

According to my friends, super funny daw tlaga and patok na patok yung book nya. And pang-masa pa ang kanyang price na Php 85.00 lng.

Witty, funny and contemporary. Good Job Wanda!!! KUDOS TO YOU!!!

arghhhhhh!

I never thought I'll ever be able to achieve this position in the community of boredom.

I have officially hit the zenith of boredom.

If there is anyone more bored than I am...I would personally see to it that they receive an international award.

I sometimes hate this office...

Just feeling gloomy I guess :(

WONDERING big time...

"And I don't want the world to see me,
`cause I don't think that they'd understand,
when everything is meant to be broken,
I just want you to know who I am...”

The lines from IRIS of Goo Goo Dolls making so very much sense...

Doesn't it??

Do you ever think of hiding from what you are just like everyone else?

There’s such an exaggerated mask so thick that you forget to be yourself more than others...the more you pretend the more you become the person you are not. I read somewhere: “Be careful of what you pretend to be because soon you are what you pretend to be”.

As we constantly pretend we take a step a day to moving forward to becoming what we are not. But then, aren’t we changing? Isn’t change inevitable? Often I here people saying change is a part of life, so then...

why is pretending bad?
why is not being yourself bad?
imitating others bad?
Trying to be someone else bad?
Identity theft BAD????

I am just wondering if change related to pretension, related to individuality to Identity theft to LIFE bad.....hhmmmm

JUST WONDERING....(ahihihi!)
